The police sirens were still echoing at the back. The corpse would definitely need a post mortem - or at least according to the laws it would.

And Yumi in fact hated this whole thing - the corpse being of her sister. Her eyes were attached to the corpse and she can't even run up to that dead body which once was alive.

Even though there was some distance between the corpse, she could see the differences. It had a small thin line on her neck. Which was neat since it was barely noticeable.

Of course, this wasn't a matter of someone killing themselves. This was a murder. Sure there were a few scars on her hand which probably the killers tried to make her look like she did it by herself, but alas, that was a poor attempt.

"This is a murder-" "I know." The woman spoke. It was well aware, that Charlie would know that. What was Yumi doing? Perhaps making a fool out of herself.

"If so, then we can investigate it, right Charl?" The tall woman remained silent, she bit her lip.

"No." "...no? Why not-"

Charlie took a deep breath, her fingers running through her face as she let out a sigh. "You know that everyone here is bought with money, right? That over here any one can die. There's no such thing as justice over here."

"I too have influence-"

Yumi was shot with a look. "Oh? Darling, you don't have enough influence yet. What are you? A CEO? Yes, that's right you are but you have a spokes person for you. Doesn't really matter because that bastard has more of influence then you do. Starting to model? Yes, you will get some recognition. Yes, people are will to die for you - well your body and you can tell them lies, but till how long? Not like, you will become supermodel in one day."

She took a deep breath before looking at Yumi. "Yes, true you helped Sophie with half of the cases, that you got the info, but this? Darling just no. It might cost you your life."

"I am ready for that." Of course, Yumi would be determined. Once she made up her mind there was no way that she would let that mystery go. Especially right now.

"Are you going to stop me-?" "Hon, I know I can't."

Charlie smiled at the child - well know a legal adult. "I will get back to you with details when the piece of shit tells us some info. Though it might take a day or two."

Yumi's frowned, a day or two? That's a long time. "At least tell me something useful-"

"Sorry hon, can't do that right now. I have to go."

And Yumi was back with her thoughts. To pin point on who had murdered her sister. The motive was clear, it had to be related to be one of her cases, the cons of being a lawyer.

She took one look at the corpse of her sister, pale as ever. Her eyes closed. Blood on her black coat as she was carried to the ambulance, for God knows what.

Even if they were to classify the case as murder, they'd just find a random person and make them view the killer by some random bullshit which would somehow close the case.

Or maybe they would not even bother doing that. Simply classify it as unsolved.

There were many possibilities and she didn't know in which one to look at.

There's one specific aspect of Deadpool & Wolverine that's important in relation to the queerness of Wade/Logan:

The fact that Vanessa isn't single.

Doesn't seem like people are talking about this so I'm going to be the one to say it I guess!

So… beyond trying to save his world / family, Wade's (flimsy) motivation is indeed partially motivated by Vanessa – or more specifically by things she said to him during their break up. He wants to figure out how he matters or how he can be a hero without being an Avenger, etc.

Shitty as it is that Vanessa is relegated to being a two-dimensional motivation mouthpiece… She and Wade didn't just break up; they tell us immediately that she's seeing another guy. By my memory, Wade never disrespects that, not even jokingly. And the plot isn't framed as a quest to ~win back the girl~ either.

The end scene underlines this too, where [SPOILER] he says he did it for her even if she doesn't want him or whatever the line is. Their little hand touch isn't really a romantic rekindling.

So, what am I getting at?

This all gives weight to Wade's mischievous flirting and (later) built connection with Logan.

If Wade and Vanessa were framed as "taking a break," or if she was still single and he was trying to win her back, the queerness with Logan wouldn't work quite as well. There'd be more room to claim it's an unserious joke.

But Vanessa's moved on.

Wade, taking LOGAN home, did too.

former. grieving his memory wipe is making any kindness he did seem to gleam like precious stars in her memory, which is making it hit that much harder. she's definitely spiraling around losing him right now, and not seeing the reality that he chose child soldiers to fight a supervillain. he really might've scolded her for being reckless, but nowhere near as lovingly as she's imagining he would - she's putting positive words in his phantom mouth because his loss hurts her more than she's willing to communicate, and its become the cornerstone of her isolation.

I wish something more people understood about Moomin and Snufkin's relationship is that the pining is mutual. Snufkin keeps coming back to Moominvalley every spring for a reason. He also admires Moomin and wants his approval, that's where his inner conflict comes from. And Moomin isn't nearly as clingy as people think. In fact, he tries his best to avoid showing Snufkin how much he misses him, even though Snufkin can tell, and never asks him to stay. Also saying that their relationship could never work completely ignores the character development they got in the last two books which would've led to a healthier relationship between them had they reunited.

just for fun this time during 'sea of blood' I counted out all the venatori corpses I think we can be pretty sure were lucanis' handiwork before we show up (not including the ones he kills in his initial cutscene, and with an assumption that he's been at work mainly up and down in the areas we move through until we find him, not behind the locked door -- I think that's mostly the work of rampaging undead and other venatori-hoisted-by-their-own-petard suchlikes). can thus happily inform you lucanis has killed at least 32 venatori before rook and company get there. at least one of them he's impaled on their own weird crystal spike things the venatori mages cast as an AOE attack and that they're trying to keep him contained with when we find him. so he's clearly been keeping busy lol. that's my boy dispensing poetic justice and claiming some enrichment in his enclosure while he's at it good for him!

Ok so. Gorgug likes Mary Ann because she absolutely infuriates him but also, and perhaps more importantly, because she has a type of confidence I think a younger Gorgug would have deeply envied. She's so weird, but entirely sure of herself. She likes what she likes and anyone who would have a problem with that is absolutely beneath her notice. She has friends not despite her oddities, but because she refuses to bend about them and that confidence is incredibly attractive in a person. Mary Ann Skuttle see's something she wants and she just...goes and gets it, easy peasy. Tiny little kobald strides, but when she puts her foot down with force, Gorgug thinks she could crush a mountain under with nothing so much as a blink or falter of her stride. She's certainly physically strong enough for it, and while Gorgug is undisputedly the better fighter, Mary Ann has a physical strength hidden under soft pastel pink hoodies and can, has, and will knock Gorgug on his ass. Gorgug got THRASHED at those Bloodrush field tryouts, and I'm certain he probably got his ass handed to him more than once during the year while at practice but before he quit the team. She made him so damn mad, everything that year was, and endlessly kind Gorgug got real mean to her over it. She was better than him, more casually confident, and didn't blink ONCE at his outburst. And later? When she was resurrected and freed from possession? He talks to her, acknowledges that it was just a game but he had been actually mad to be so easily knocked aside. He never really had to work at Bloodrush to be good at it, he just was, until suddenly she proved herself better.

And yet, without flinching, Mary Ann, famous for not giving a shit but listening to Gorgug say how much he had, just....asks if he has a girlfriend. Unparalleled confidence, shooting a shot he was unprepared for. Planets aligned even as his own orbit was knocked off course. And then, when he admits he doesn't even know where to get a quokki pet, something its been explicitly known to be something she really cares about? She writes down her number, letting him see that folded paper. She initiated this, and he got swept up in it, but instead of just handing over the number and allowing him to be swept up- Mary Ann Skuttle puts the number away and tells him shes gonna put it where you get quokki pets, and if he wants her number he's going to have to go get it. He's not allowed to just be swept up in the force of her, she wants him to put in effort, prove to her and himself that this isn't just a moment but a starting point. He cant be swept up by the tide, he's gotta swim. Gorgug liked Zelda, but their relationship started because they thought she was in danger and Gorgug had the best in. He stumbled into that relationship unsure and off balance, he never would have had the confidence to pursue Zelda without his friends hands on his back and their advice in his ears. Later on he gets more serious, he did love her and he put in the work to maintain that relationship, but it didn't work out and that's ok. Ever confident Mary Ann tho? She doesn't want unsure stumbling steps into this relationship. If Gorgug doesn't make the active decision to chase her, to WANT to be with her and putting deliberate effort to get there, then she doesn't want him at all. Gorgug, confused, asking where you even GET a quokki pet? And she smirks, calls him a loser, and walks away leaving him reeling and dumbfounded. Mary Ann Skuttle wants Gorgug to work for this. And who is Gorgug Thistlespring, but someone who puts in the work for things he wants? He did the seemingly impossible by creating his own subclass of Barbaficer, even if he had to take four years of schooling all at once. He puts in the work and makes the impossible possible, the greatest wizard of this age. So yeah. Yeah. Gorgug Thistlespring likes Mary Ann Skuttle because she makes him work for it.
